IATA AIR Hackathon

Welcome to the AIR (Airline Industry Retailing) Hackathon, around-the-clock experience to enhance airline retailing. The AIR Hackathon comprises:

  • One week ideation phase to prepare your project around leisure and business travel (ideation is available only for registered participants and they will be invited on 29 March 2019)
  • A 28 hour coding experience in Seattle, USA to work on your projects and pitch ideas to a team of industry experts and mentors

During the AIR Hackathon you will be asked to build solutions to enhance airline’s retailing capabilities. We will ask you to address at least one of the related themes published for this event. In parallel, you will be able to attend some of the workshops that will take place on-site and gain access to mentors that will support you through the Hackathon experience.

We are thrilled to have the 11th edition of IATA AIR Hackathon in such a vibrant location to take airline retailing to the next level!

NDC Info

The New Distribution Capability (NDC) is a travel industry-supported program launched by IATA for the development and market adoption of a new, XML-based data transmission standard. The NDC Standard enhances the capability of communications between airlines and travel agents and is open for others to implement and use.

The NDC Standard enhances the capability of communications between airlines and travel agents.

The NDC Standard is open to any third party, intermediary, IT provider or non-IATA member, to implement and use.

The NDC Standard enables the travel industry to transform the way air products are retailed to corporations, leisure and business travelers, by addressing the industry’s current distribution limitations:

  • Product differentiation and time-to-market
  • Access to full and rich air content
  • Transparent shopping experience
You must use at least one NDC API participating to this Hackathon in order to win a prize.
